CAAN to adopt European standards for air safety
Kathmandu: The European standards of air safety measures will soon be adopted and implemented in the aviation sector in Nepal according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
The CAAN revealed this information at the workshop conducted in Kathmandu on Monday where in three experts in flight safety standards from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) under European Union had given orientation on these aspects.
The workshops intends to explore the objective of enhancing air accident control and at the same time bolster the proficiency of pilots.
The CAAN has been adopting and implementing the standards devised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for aircraft maintenance within the aviation industry. However the outcome has not been as expected in the previous years.
That is why the CAAN initiated this workshop to further enhance the effectiveness of EASA standards over ICAO with this additional flight safety measures learnings and sharing.
