Banke becoming religious tourism destination
Kathmandu: Barfani Baba Temple and Santaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Chure area of Banke have started developing as religious tourism destinations.
The provincial government has started construction of infrastructure for religious tourism at Barfani Temple located in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-4 and Santhaneshwar Mahadev Temple located in Vedihiva Chure Hill in Narainapur Rural Municipality-5.
Minister of Lumbini Province Krishna KC informed that the construction of the helipad has been started under the development plan for infrastructure development.
Minister KC informed that a helipad is going to be constructed so that the pilgrims and tourists who cannot reach there by walking can use the helicopter. A road is also going to be built from Narainapur area to reach Baba Barfani.
While the road was planned last year, it will be completed only this year, Minister KC said, adding that the Lumbini state government has already allocated the budget to develop the ashram as a tourist area.
Baba Barfani temple area is a religious and tourist place. Shriram Sigdel, President of NATA Banke, suggested that it is necessary to create infrastructure of long-term importance by building DPR, and said that if the government invests in the tourism sector only by understanding it, the community can also benefit.
The construction of a helipad for pilgrims and tourists who want to come by helicopter has also started in Santaneshwar.
